Deciding if you need a professional groomer

Decide if you need a professional groomer, If you haven’t had much experience working with sharp implements, it may be best to leave it to a professional who has groomed for years with experience behind her.

Should you take your pet to a professional groomer? The answer depends on the type of pet you have and your comfort level. There are so many blades that are used for different breeds and cuts, there are breeds that shouldn’t be shaved down and other breeds that need maintaining every four weeks. It may be best to decide for yourself what will be best for your families pet.

For example, many people feel comfortable grooming their short-haired cats, while owners of long-haired dogs who are prone to mats opt for professional grooming. You may not have the time, tools, experience, or physical ability to adequately groom your pet. For example, some animals (like poodles) have their fur groomed into particular styles that require a professional. Or a pet may require regular or seasonal clipping, medicated or flea baths, removal of skunk odors or harmful substances or removal of matted fur.

Typically, a trained professional can more safely and humanely handle tricky procedures and temperamental or frightened animals. (Removing severe mats should always be done by an experienced groomer to avoid accidental cuts.) Keep in mind, however, that professional groomers aren’t miracle workers; it’s up to you to stay on top of your pet’s grooming needs. The tough part for me as a professional groomer, is seeing a dog come in that hasn’t been groomed in 6 months. It’s crucial to keep them groomed for their health, skin, over-all feeling and looking their best.

Ideally, to find a professional who works out of their home and can give each dog the environment of a quiet pampering grooming session versus taking your family pet to a larger establishment where there is alot of noise from other equipment and other groomers. Visit us on line at

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickies to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
